Areas of Practice

"Creating a comfortable, non-judgmental environment where my clients can begin to heal is my goal. I help clients feel empowered and get on a positive path towards growth and well-being. I work with clients to address challenges, uncover their potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating."

Emotional Trauma

The long-term effects of traumatic experiences may be carried throughout someone’s lifetime and may be debilitating in work, relationships, and self-perception. My goal is to honor your trauma history and encourage you to find a path that is compassionate and healing. Together we will identify and develop coping skills for present-focused trauma reactions. Areas of trauma that I specialize in include PTSD, Complex Trauma, Complicated Grief and Complex Bereavement, Relationship Trauma, and Attachment Disorders.

Substance Use Disorders

Understanding substance use and the underlying connection between your emotions is key in the recovery process. My goal is to come alongside you and help guide you on your recovery journey. By examining the underlying causes of substance use and co-occurring disorders, I will work with you to gain the courage to face difficult issues, including grief and loss; heal from emotional trauma; and become accountable for your feelings, behaviors, and recovery. Together we will identify ways to implement and maintain lasting change.

Mental Health

Approaching mental health from a holistic perspective includes your emotional, psychological, and social well-being. I am invested in your overall wellness and will seek to develop a personalized care plan with you. Together, we will address how you handle stress, relate to others, and how you make choices in your everyday life. Mental health issues I specialize in include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and character issues.

Family Recovery

Together we can transform parenting, partnering and treatment planning for your family. Family members who love someone suffering with substance use or mental illness may experience increased anxiety, powerlessness and despair. It can often be difficult to set clear boundaries and limits, as well as, communicate effectively. By focusing on recovery of the family system we can rebuild trust, create healthy connections and reduce chaos.

Real Patients

“I feel lucky to have met and worked with Sarah Gentry at different stages of my healing journey over the last 16 years. Sarah is a *SOLUTIONS FOCUSED* therapist and the best I’ve worked with hands down. Sarah is down to earth, highly competent in her field, and extremely invested in her clients well-being during treatment and beyond. If you are ready to level up and change which is no longer serving you in your life, I highly recommend Sarah Gentry.”

"We have worked with numerous therapists over the years and not one has been able to get to the root of our family’s problems like Sarah has! After one year of consistent treatment, Sarah has helped us put together our fractured family. Sarah is honest, smart, personable, caring, kind, and direct. If you are willing to be open and committed, Sarah will help you gain insight on specific areas you would like to address and improve upon. Sarah is a very gifted therapist who has gone above and beyond; providing therapy is not a 'job' for Sarah, it is a passion."

"Bottom Line: It’s my favorite hour of the week!! I started needing help with grief now we’re working on everything else. I look forward to every session !! Sarah might know me better than I know myself. Amazing insight! I had to be convinced to try therapy. After my first session with Sarah I was convinced how much I wanted to continue therapy! I’m so fortunate to have her on my team !"

Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being.
